Because of Hollywood, everyone thinks California is a great place to swim.
It isn't.
It's actually somewhat dangerous due to undertows and the water's quite cold. Alaskan waters feed the southbound California current which only tapers off in Baja California. So if you want to work on your tan, go ahead.
But swim?
Go farther south or take a road trip to the Gulf a few days away.
Great place for photography though. That seagull's from a beach in Sonoma County and the waves are from Ocean Beach, San Francisco. The islands however are inspired by Maui.
Roman loves both 19th century Victorian Art and American Pop Art as you can tell, homaging both in this oil painting. The Victorians loved painting femme fatales, including both sirens and mermaids. And American Pop Art is like California wine. It's bursting with color as California wines burst with flavor. No way anyone could pass by this painting without noticing how the colors bombard your senses.
Allie modeled for this painting on their European vacation in 2024. Roman and Allie shot a mermaid shoot, Allie wearing only sweatpants with her blonde hair hanging down. Yes, it really is that long. Roman encourages his models to keep their hair very long.
