Allie as Selene Framed canvas

$81.00

Selene is the Ancient Greek Goddess of the Moon.

The Ancient Greeks painted or sculpted her with horns shaped like the moon.  However, Art Deco Artists often removed the horn and either painted her sitting on the moon or standing before it.

Roman prefers the Art Deco aesthetic - a beautiful nude Goddess sitting on the moon.

Art Deco often painted the moon in a shade of blue, yellow, or solid gold.  Roman prefers gold.

Roman has a soft spot for Art Deco as there were several movie theaters in the San Francisco Bay Area that remained from the Art Deco period, most notably the Orinda theater which is walking distance from the Orinda BART (the San Francisco Bay Area train) station.
